My Work
Bordo Bello 2011
The Bordo Bello fundraiser is where artist and designers donate a skateboard deck to be auctioned off with proceeds going towards AIGA Colorado’s mentorship opportunities, as well as, two local organizations Access Gallery and Youth Design Denver, plus the AIGA Colorado’s Scholarship fund.
For the 2011 event I produced one deck by myself and I collaborated with my friend Steve on the second deck. The Mayan deck was printed with a silver metallic base and recently reprinted at 8 inches.
SpaceMonkey Skateboards
My concept for these skateboards include my interest in space and astronomy mixed with humorous illustrations and custom typography. The second deck was designed with help of Steven Cantrell, a good friend of mine who collaborated with me and produced the illustrations.
Various Logos
These are logos I have designed for varied school projects, freelance clients and during my internship with Section 45. Some of them are currently in use while others were comps that were not chosen by the particular client who opted to go in a different direction.
Point Magazine
“Point is a fresh perspective, a new voice and the freedom to talk about the way we, as design students interpret the things we see and feel are relevant. The vehicle we’ve created to express our point of view is this publication we simply call Point” -Carrie Martin, AIGA Co-Education Director & Point Adviser
Role: Assistant Art Director
Bordo Bello 2010
The Bordo Bello fundraiser is where artist and designers donate a skateboard deck to be auctioned off with proceeds going towards AIGA Colorado’s mentorship opportunities, as well as, two local organizations Access Gallery and Youth Design Denver, plus the AIGA Colorado’s Scholarship fund. I purchased a blank deck with the intention of designing a skateboard that was unlike the two previous that I did for Diabolical Skateboards.
Envisage Technologies
This was the largest project I had the opportunity to work on while I was interning for Section 45 Advertising & Design in the summer of 2009. At the time, Envisage was going through a full rebranding and needed all new materials for their upcoming tradeshow. Two of the three main components for this project that I worked on was the brochure and their new website.
Designer: Connie Tran / Art Direction: Stuart Confer / Creative Direction: Randall Ereklens
Dark Matter Productions
The project was a semester long design campaign that was completed at the end of my spring 2009 semeste for typography III. For this project I created a fictional music production company that was in need of branding, business cards, letterhead, mailer, cd packaging, event posters, and a website. For the most part, this project is now complete. I am certain that this project will later be updated and improved when I have more time.
Diabolical Skateboards
This project started as the final for my Typography III class in May of 2009. Each student was given 2 and half hours to design a skateboard for Diabolical Skateboards and submit their to them. In the end, the owner of diabolical skateboards picked my design and produced it a few months later. Since then I have also designed another deck, t-shirt and stickers for their retail store in Englewood, Colorado.
REI Redesign
This is a hypothetical situation where REI had requested a rebranding because of new competition in the area. I felt that their current logo had too many elements and could use better typography. My solution for this project was to design a new logo was that was simplistic, cleaner, and more contemporary. I designed the new logo to represent the outdoors, performance and quality to ensure that they communicate what they represent as a company.
Zeromile Magazine
Zeromile magazine is a class project for typography III students that first began in the fall of 2008. Each student interviews for a specific staff position on the magazine and works together to produce the publication. I applied and interviewed for the position of Creative Director for issue #2 which I later hired on for. My job as creative director includes: directs Senior Art Director, Managing Art Director, Layout Designers, and Web Team. Responsible for the look and feel of the publication. Designs the mast-head, identity, and cover.
Decks

This collection of decks were designed by myself and in collaboration with Steve Cantrell who produced illustrations for deck 2 & 5. These will be for sale in various sizes very soon.
